achieving their entrepreneurial goals. But what does it take to
be successful in franchising?
The Canadian Franchise Association (CFA) spoke with successful
franchisees who shared their first-hand knowledge of the qualities
required to make it in franchising. According to them, successful
franchisees have:
1. Motivation
While franchisees receive franchisor support, it's the franchisee's
own initiative and drive that will ultimately lead to success.
2. A willingness to be a team player
A franchise system is a team, with the franchisor and franchisee
working together to benefit and create consistency throughout the
entire company.
3. A strong work ethic
To achieve their goals, successful franchises need to be tenacious,
persistent and passionate about what they do and be prepared to
put in the work it takes.
4. A focus on customer service
No matter the industry or business concept, people skills are key
to customer satisfaction and the success of your franchise.
5.An understanding of their products or services
Be knowledgeable about the business you'll be working in to better
understand your customers, especially if you don't have a background
in that particular sector.
